About Katie

I am currently employed full time, but I'm looking to open up my availability for babysitting as I pursue a career change. I live downtown Indianapolis. I graduated from IU with a degree in recreational therapy, where I gained education on child development, working with children who experience cognitive and emotional impairments. I have been working in the mental health field and hospital setting until recently. I was also employed as a skills development specialist through Adult and Child Health. I worked with elementary children in the school setting, teaching them coping skills to manage impulses and educate them on social and emotional skills. I have an understanding of the interventions your child needs for a therapeutic, learning environment. I am seeking occasional and one-time babysitting opportunities.
