About Kathryn

Hello! My name is Katy. I'm a scuba diving instructor from Ireland with a masters degree and 10+ years experience working with children aged 18 months to 18 years. As a PADI instructor, I have qualifications to teach First Aid, CPR, and AED usage. I previously managed a small daycare facility with kids aged 1-6. I established a routine and timetable for the kids to follow, and provided age appropriate lessons, activities, and crafts. I have experience working at an elementary school for children with speech and language disorders, as a 1:1 classroom aide for a 7-year-old boy with autism and behavioral problems, and as a YMCA swimming instructor teaching children aged 5-12. I am very interested in child development and psychology, and try to read on the subject as much as possible. While kids are in my care, I strive to fully engage with their interests and activities, while also making sure to encourage independent play and problem solving.
