About Kathryn

Kathryn has real-world experience in early childcare. She has also studied childhood development. I have witnessed her apply both her knowledge and natural skills during her interactions with my nearly 4-year-old daughter, over as many years. Kat absolutely aligns with our parenting values. She sees children as whole people and treats them as individuals (not baby, toddler or adolescent monoliths). She understands how to hold loving boundaries, while allowing a child to freely (and safely) be who they are. She does not issue commands—instead, she asks questions and redirects. Kathryn is a calm and steady leader, which I’m sure is why children gravitate to her. But what I admire most about Kat is her ability to connect with kids, even at the most challenging stages or moments. She also shares our sincere delight in who our daughter is, and who she is becoming. It makes sense that when Kathryn must inevitably return to the West Coast, my daughter asks about when she will return incessantly. It is my great pleasure to recommend Kathryn as reliable, thoughtful and respectful caregiver, without reservation.
