About Kathryn

I'd describe my personality as patient, communicative, and enthusiastic. I love seeing how quickly kids learn and make sense of the world around them. The unconditional love, joy, and creativity they bring to our world is so amazing to see! I couldn't imagine working in another field. I remember being in 2nd grade telling my mom that one day I would be a 2nd grade teacher. Life came full circle as I finished my internship in a second grade classroom and graduated from WWU with my elementary education teaching certificate in 2022! I have since been substitute teaching for BPS. Through my 7 years of experience working in educational (general and special education), summer camp, and childcare settings I have learned how to develop positive relationships with children of all ages, use developmentally appropriate communication, respond to challenging behavioral needs, encourage social and emotional learning, positively reinforce behavior, and create an environment that promotes growth.
