As a CNA my responsibilities are first to the senior I am assisting. I've been a CNA for 33 years. As a young girl I was driving to school and I saw a dirty little old man. I started crying because he obviously had no one to help him. Within one and a half years, I had become an aide. For me, one of the things that gets overlooked the most in caring for someone is a simple touch or hug. I always say I would do this just for the hugs but I have to pay the rent. My experience for the most part of the past 25 years has been as a medicare aide. I go to the clients home and assist with their bath. However during that time I was a medication tech. and a private aide. The woman I was with for three years, sadly passed away 2 years ago. We would go to the park, shopping, to the library or just driving around to get out of the 4 walls everyday. I know we were brought together I needed her as much as she needed me. I know we are not supposed to get to close but how do you do that.
