Experience: 5 yrs
I'm currently a grad student at Columbia University, where I'm studying to become a Speech Pathologist. Earlier this year, I was hired by a family from Care. com to travel with their family and watch their 3 young girls full-time for two weekends. They spoke highly of my ability to "jump right in" and even passed along my contact info to their friends! Last year, I worked as an assistant speech therapist at an elementary school in Vermont. In college, I taught in a preschool classroom with children between the ages of 4-5. I've also worked as a personal care attendant for a young child with autism. But my enthusiasm and passion for kids isn't limited to my professional life. For the past five years, I've babysat for a local family with two children. I also volunteered as a mentor for a program that matches college students with children from low-income situations. Even more so than these endeavors, I think that my infectious energy, creativity and sense of humor are what set me apart.
