I have experience with children newborn and up, I also have twin experience. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I am also ECC teacher certified infant/toddler/preschool. I have background in Early Childhood and Special Education. I have been working in the child care setting since I was 16 years old. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old as a mother's helper. Then started as an assistant at a daycare when I was 16. When I graduated high school, I became teacher certified infant/toddler/preschool. I then went off to college for Early Childhood Education, while in school I worked at a daycare in Fitchburg Ma, then once my schedule got more hectic-later college years I found a nanny position that fit with my classes. Since then I have been a full time nanny! I love working with children.

It could be that the joke around my office is that I refer to my daycare-pickup nanny as "Mary Poppins". The fact is, it's not a joke. We truly believe she is a real-world fairy-godmother. We hired Katherine six months ago to be the point person with our daycare. In this function, she has become an expert resource to the first-time mom I am and proved herself to be a dedicated caregiver. And to our son, she's a best friend, a constant, someone I can foresee he'll forever have a relationship with. She's the gear that makes our very busy world go round, and simply makes it all possible and happen. She has made my transition (or lack thereof) into a 60 hour workweek feasible and manageable. It is no small feat (I work at an agency). In a few hours a week, Katherine has consistently given 200%. Below are a few attributes that showcase her unique talent for what she does: - an advocate for my child - everyday, she makes a point of pointing out variances in my child's routine and outlining possible explanations, along with personal remedies as an experienced caregiver. If something doesn't make sense on my child's daily sheet, she proactively reaches out to the daycare to find out why. I'm sure that if she felt I was doing something dramatically wrong about my kid, she would let me know - in a nice way of course. At the same time, she listens and makes sure she understands your point of view about child-rearing. If I have questions, she makes sure she makes me feel comfortable asking. When his progress book came home noting that he had started to reach out for objects and crawl, she was as excited as me and had "tested" his skills before I got home. I feel she's a true partner in ensuring my child's well-being and development and her and I share his milestones together, to my delight. - passionate about what she does - Katherine does what she loves, and loves what she does. You can truly feel that from day one. I look at my son and her sharing true moments of learning, joy, respect and discovery. While I always felt like I've retained my place as my son's mother, I also feel my son has a special bond to Katherine. She takes the time to truly develop that relationship through games and conversations - and I feel he's learning from her. When I cross the front door, it is laughter that I hear - and a smiley baby who greets me. This is not just a job to her, it's a true vocation in which she always seems to deliver the extra mile - to our baby's and our delight! - pleasant and easy going, flexible and trustworthy - this is pretty straightforward. I'm sure Katherine experiences "a long day" and sometimes even "a long week" but it never feels that way. She is consistently pleasant, down to earth and eager to do her job well. In the instances where she feels I need extra help, she has always volunteered to do so. We are very private people who don't usually invite strangers into our life and homes, but here as well, she makes it straightforward and painless. All in all, I do believe Katherine is Mary Poppins - a world-class nanny that any kid/baby would be lucky to have in their lives.
