We hired Katie to babysit for my son when he was about 2 months old - she watched him for several hours at a time and date nights until recently. She was great with him and very capable - but sadly, for the reason listed below, I cannot recommend her due to her lack of dependability and communication. When I brought Katie on, I explained that my goal was to have a sitter during my maternity leave (at 6 months) that would eventually come on permanently as a nanny - that way, the baby would have plenty of time to be comfortable with our sitter. Unfortunately, she dropped off the map and did not answer any of my calls or texts just 2 weeks before I was supposed to return to work. She had a lot going on in her personal life in the months leading up to my time back at work, and tried to give her opportunities to say it was not doable for her. Today, we're scrambling for a new nanny and I have to start work much later than planned because of her lack of communication.
