About Katherine

Hi! My name is Kate and I am excited to be your tutor! I have a Biology BS with a chemistry minor and a Philosophy BA from the UNC- Chapel Hill as well as a Masters of Physiology from NC State. I am well versed in STEM classes, and can tutor 1st-12th grade. My skills are strongest in biology, earth science, and chemistry, although I am proficient in physics, pre-algebra, and algebra as well. I am open to college level tutoring, although this depends on the topic. I love English and Literature and my philosophy degree has given me extensive experience writing essays and analyzing reading materials. I can give feedback on essays, provide writing assistance, and build up critical reading and analysis skills. I am also artsy and creative. I have experience working with a range of mediums, but charcoal, acrylic paint, and watercolor are my areas of expertise. I have commissioned several pieces of artwork and had a piece displayed at an art show as part of a high school art competition.
