About Katherine

I am a certified teacher. My certifications include EC-6 Generalist (all subjects), Language Arts/Social Studies 4-8, ESL, and Special Education. I have 11 years of experience teaching in Katy ISD. I have taught grades 4, 5, 6, and 7. I have taught 7th grade the longest. While I have taught science, Texas history, and US history, I specialize and have extensive experience in teaching reading, writing, and grammar for grades 4-7. I have tutored previously during my summers off and have experience tutoring special education and dyslexic students. I also served on the Katy ISD curriculum writing committee for 3 years, so I am very familiar with the state objectives and skills that are taught in classrooms. Not only do I have a plethora of resources that I used in my own classroom, but I make a point to establish an excellent rapport with those that I work with, and try to make learning as engaging and relevant as possible.
