About Katherine

My name is Katie, and I'm thrilled to meet you! Others describe me as an empathetic, motivated person with excellent communication skills. My #1 passion in life is connecting with people, which is why I am currently pursuing a master's in social work. In my free time, I love to be outdoors, paint, and spend time with my dogs! In the past decade, I have worked as a babysitter, gymnastics coach, afterschool teacher, classroom paraprofessional, and family support worker. I have a specific interest and a lifetime of experience working with children with disabilities. Working with kids is so fulfilling to me, because I know that every interaction is meaningful. One of my strengths is emotional deescalation, which I accomplish by acknowledging a child's emotional needs and helping them practice positive coping behaviors. I'm primarily interested in providing regular afterschool care, tutoring, or occasional babysitting, but I'd love to talk to you about your family's needs!
