This was my first time using the care.com app and was excited that I discovered this website especially being a first time mom and being on maternity leave for a few months, but had to prepare to go back to work. So I hired Katelynn as a one day sitter through this website-- paid for the services in advance through care.com and the booking was confirmed by Katelynn a week prior to the scheduled date. I messaged her the night before the scheduled booking to confirm, but she never responded. Since it was a confirmed booking, and I never received any notice of cancellation, I assumed she would come. The next day, I waited for 30 minutes and the sitter no showed, so I canceled and got a refund. That was really disappointing especially when it was my first day back to work from maternity leave and first time using the app. It would have been nice and considerate to be informed that she wasn't planning on coming so I could have made other arrangements. That put me in a bind and I ended up just having to care for her myself. I pray this doesn't happen to any other mom.
