About Katelyn

I am a currently certified K-8 teacher. While I just left the classroom (end of last school year), I am maintaining my certificate status to keep up to date on current education practices. I have been teaching since 2014. During my time as an educator, I primarily worked with grades 2-4. However, I am comfortable with teaching any level of K-6. If you're interested in middle school tutoring, I'm most comfortable with literacy and social studies. My strong points are breaking things down into simple components, using visual and tactile methods (particularly in math), work with students with autism and adhd, and working with gifted learners. While I've mostly taught, I have tutored in the summer and most recently tutored and nannied a special needs 6-year-old in summer of 2022. My passion is literacy and writing, but I think I'm most innovative in the way I teach math. I am happy to help in a lot of areas. I also have some experience in psychology and behavior strategies.
