About Karla

Hello, my name is Karla. I'm 34 years old and I have worked as an elementary school teacher, a special education teacher, a tutor, a nanny, and a disability services specialist at a university. My experience in teaching spans 8 years and my experience at the University lasted 3 years before I was recently laid off. I encourage independence, curiosity, and creativity. My skills with tutoring are best suited for early readers and elementary school level content. Working at the University, I taught individuals with disabilities tools and strategies to practice study skills. As a nanny, I monitored a teenager with autism, helping him through his morning routine, and providing basic homework help as needed. I also did minor household chores like folding laundry, sweeping, vacuuming, and washing dishes. Whichever role I am needed for, I treat with the utmost diligence and respect.
