I have been working as both a nanny and a nursing assistant for all abilities and disabilities for 35 years. I have a COVID and infant/child/adult CPR/AED/first aid, certificate, as well as a college degree. I was a licensed home daycare owner for 5 years and began working as a caregiver/nanny for the last 30 years. I am very enthusiastic, nurturing, and empathetic. I enjoy child guidance activities and working with milestone goals. I promote early learning while having fun with sing-a-longs, stories, colors, numbers, arts and crafts, and fun physical activities! Karla cared for my daughter from the time she was 6 months old. She's now 19 months old and thriving. Karla is caring, engaged, punctual and reliable. She proactively finds ways to engage my daughter in level-appropriate play, teaching her colors, songs, words, and (now that we are in toddlerhood) emotional regulation. She does so with the utmost patience, firm gentleness, and care. This is incredibly important to me since this is an aspect of care quality linked to childrens' long-term behavioral and cognitive outcomes. She is consistently on-time and reliable. This has allowed her to form a solid bond with my daughter and ensured continuity of care for her. My daughter lovingly refers to her as 'Kawawa" and excitedly runs to the door when she hears her coming. Karla is an essential part of our "village" as we raise our daughter. She respects our parenting choices and, when a new situation arises and I'm unsure what to do, kindly leverages her extensive experience to offer suggestions. We are so glad she is part of our lives!!
