I have always had a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities. I have a younger brother who was diagnosed with Asperger's as well as being legally deaf. While in College I had the pleasure of interning for Happy Day School which is a school for individuals with developmental disabilities that focuses on integration of "normally" developing children with those who have a disability. I spent half of my time there working in a TEACCH Classroom with 4 young boys on the autism spectrum. Currently I am working in a HBC Waiver with a young woman who has Sever developmental disabilities, Autism, and PTSD. I love this population and I want to continue helping individuals with developmental disabilities realize their full potential.
