For 5 years, I served as a live-in nanny to 2 toddlers. Then, a s a certified K-Adult Special Education teacher, I've been employed by public/private schools & daycares. Since 2015, I've supported families in S Lake Tahoe as a part-time nanny. My personality is kind & thoughtful. I like working with children because they make me laugh. I'm looking for a job that allows me to support families seeking a considerate childcare provider. I started working with kids when I was young --serving as the reliable neighborhood babysitter. Then, I chose a career path in which I was able to support children/babies in academic goal setting, etc. In my spare time, I like to hike & paddle board. I enjoy helping children of all ages become independent learners. My skills include providing a clean, safe place for children to excel.

We sought Karen's services to care for our very rambunctious and high energy 1 y/o & 2 y/o boys while my husband and I got some time on the mountain. Karen arrived early to start the day, and even brought her own toys to keep the boys entertained, which was helpful since we were staying out of town. Karen brought high, positive energy that my boys picked up on as soon as she introduced herself, and they immediately took to her without tears when we left for the day. Karen captivated their curiosity for play throughout the day while maintaining good limits-as I know my 2 year old (especially!) likes to test the boundaries! Karen didn't flinch and patiently redirected as needed. Karen kept us up to date throughout the day with pictures & text updates, which put us at ease and allowed us to enjoy our ski day worry free. When we returned home the boys were happy, in good spirts, and we have already been asked about when Miss Karen can return!
