About Karen

I am a certified classroom teacher with over 35 years experience working with children and families. I worked as a teacher, Curriculum/Reading Specialist and Assistant Principal for Broward County Schools for over 20 years. In this capacity I taught thousands of children reading, writing , math, science, social studies, etc. As a Reading Specialist I helped hundreds of struggling readers become confident, proficient & passionate readers! From 2017 to 2022 I coached and mentored elementary teachers, reading coaches and school administrators as an Early Literacy Specialist. I have worked with highly gifted and talented children as well as those who have faced various challenges. My greatest joy is to instill self confidence and a lifelong love of learning in a child who is struggling. My education includes an A. A. In Child Development, B. A. In Elementary Education and an Med in Educational Leadership.
