About Karen

Hello! I've been a full time mum for 16 years. I have two boys, now teenagers, who are thriving and happy. I'm looking for some extra work helping out another family. I can help your children with reading, learning their numbers, arts and crafts, baking, gardening, music and general fun and play. I'm a pretty easy-going and upbeat person. I like working with kids because they are fun, creative, bring a lot of energy and they are also rewarding to be around. I started working with kids 16 years ago when my children were young. I have volunteered for school events plus I was a youth sports (soccer) volunteer for several years. In my spare time I like art, illustration, gardening, travel, hiking, circuit training and fitness. One thing you should know about me is I'm British but have been living in New York for 16 years with my family. My skills include patience and creativity. I love reading with kids and teaching them new skills in an encouraging way.
