About Karen

I am a patient, creative, results-oriented semi-retired educator with over 30 years of experience teaching students age 5 up to age 22 with and without disabilities. Motivating frustrated, struggling learners using games and activities based on the student's interests is my strength. English Language Arts is my specialty, but I have taught every subject throughout the years. I am trained in several research-based methods that are effective for students of all ages and abilities. I possess a Master's degree in Education, and I am certified to teach students with and without disabilities. Education is changing during these challenging times. Many families need help with online learning, and many children need 1:1 interaction with a teacher to supplement online learning. I can help you with both! Please note that, unless it is in conjunction with tutoring, I do not provide childcare.
