About Karen

I am mother to a 14yo girl whom I taught to read and do basic math before kindergarten and she was able to skip 1st grade. I also have a 4yo son whom we adopted from foster care this past February. He came to us at 19 months old; we also fostered 2 older girls and a newborn. I nannied a toddler for two years before fostering. I have been a paid child care worker at Shelbyville 1st Baptist on Wednesday nights. I worked for the Jefferson Co School system for over a year as a substitute assistant mainly with pre-k/k and ECE students. I have taught or helped with several VBSs and Children's Church. I have previously been certified in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid. That certification has expired but I can have it renewed at your request. I love kids, taking care of them, playing with them, and teaching them. I will also do light housework if needed. If interested in tutoring, math through algebra, reading, writing, and grammar are my strong suites.
