About Kara

Hello! My name is Kara. I have 10 years of childcare experience & my B. S. from KU. I'm an experienced nanny & teacher with a background in Montessori, preschool & elementary education. I began working with children in my teens while studying Early Childhood Education at BCTC/babysitting for local families. I've nannied for families throughout college & after graduating, both long-term & summer care. My philosophy centers on creating a calm, respectful environment where children can explore, learn & play at their own pace. As a Montessori preschool teacher, I supported development through hands-on, child-led learning that builds independence, curiosity & confidence. I'm also the mom of a sweet, inquisitive 2-year-old who would come along with me. She has joined me at work since she was 3 months old & loves having playmates. I am CPR certified & have all state/federal clearances. I look forward to connecting! :)
