About Kara

Hello! My name is Kara and I use they/them pronouns. I come to the childcare profession with a masters in social work and a passion for creating and nurturing safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces. I have always found spending time with children to be both invigorating and nourishing. I strive to not only be a model of patience and kindness, but also wish to be collaborators with the children in being actively curious about the world, through healthy playfulness, creativity, and discovery. I tend towards spending screen-free, engaged time with the kids I provide care for. I love nature and being outdoors whenever possible. I believe a lot of learning and gentleness comes when forming relationship with the natural world. I also like creating art and making music (I play guitar and piano). I love watching babies delight in colors and sound, and am excited about working together with children to make something, whether it is a silly song, a craft, a painting, or even slime!
