About Kalyani
I have 5 years experience as an educator and teaching artist both in school, after school, and non traditionally on a rooftop farm in Brooklyn. I started caretaking when I was 15 for a family with four children, and learned that I love working with young people! My performing arts background in theatre and music (I sing and play guitar) enriches my skills as a caretaker as I love cultivating a space for play, creativity, and discovery for young ones. I have a Masters in Applied Theatre from CUNY SPS, where I gained invaluable experience and training in liberatory teaching tools and frameworks that meet young people where they are and help them grow. I'm also passionate about food, nature/sustainability, gardening, and crafting!

Kalyani is wonderful! I’m writing this as her long-time theatre collaborator. We’ve done projects with young people across the age spectrum, most notably a huge project with a kindergarten group.
