About Jyla

Hello! I'm Jyla. I am from Pasadena, California and I now currently reside in San Diego. I moved to San Diego in 2021 as a transfer student from Pasadena City College to UC San Diego to pursue a B. S. in Public Health. I have adequate experience working with children and young adults. My first job was at a summer camp at my community park. I worked as a Youth Advisor for children ages 5-7. I guided them in activities such as arts and crafts, dancing, yoga, or outdoor activities such as swimming. I learned how to effectively connect and communicate w/ children which helped strengthen my interpersonal communication skills. While at UCSD, I acquired positions where I mentored college students on personal and academic matters and truly enjoyed it. I cherish the younger generations. I embrace my ability to connect with and learn from them. I have a 7-year-old cousin, 4-year-old niece, cousin and brother. I relish in the moments I have with them and our gentle bonds.
