I've been a nanny for newborns, infants, toddlers & every other age group from birth to near-adulthood. I've been babysitting since I was 11 & a nanny throughout high school & college. I was also a camp counselor at a sleep-away camp for eight years. Being responsible for a dozen 7-year-old girls every moment of the day & night for two weeks is definitely an exercise in patience & sanity, but I genuinely like children. They're more interesting than most adults. I have one older & three younger siblings + 12 nieces & nephews, so my life is full of little ones. My philosophy for working with children has always hinged on being consistent. I want kids to have fun & laugh & play, but I can set boundaries. I never tell a child that I'm going to do anything that I'm not prepared to do, from a special treat to literally turning the car around. I prioritize honesty with both parents and kids because it fosters trust & I can't help or fix or care for anything that I'm not aware of.
