About Julia

Hi! I am Julia, and I am passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Currently, I am an afterschool educator for elementary and middle school-aged children, where I create fun and educational STEM activities. As a pre-med student, I bring a background in CPR training and first aid. I'd describe my personality as compassionate, determined, and witty. I started working with kids in April of 2023. I began as a volunteer, where I would disperse SNAP funds and "veggie coupons" to children and families at the farmers market. After growing a passion for helping my community and the future generations, I transitioned into working as an afterschool educator in low-income communities. I work at four schools where I host classes on gardening, micronutrients, and other science lessons. I work with children ranging from 6-15. In my spare time, I like to hone my creativity hobbies. I enjoy drawing, sewing, baking, and any craft I can get my hands on!
