About Julia

As a certified elementary school teacher, I spent six years employed as a full-time classroom teacher and interventionist in Philly and North Carolina. I appreciate and enjoy every child's unique skills and personalities, and I love spending time in creative and happy ways with kids. Apart from my job as an educator, I have spent a year as a full time research assistant and now am in a full-time phd program in Education. I have many years of experience nannying for children of varying ages (infants & up) and abilities. I work to create a safe, caring, and positive structure around the time that I spend with any child, meaning I often bring along games, help children explore their interests, or plan fun outings whenever I am babysitting or nannying. I also believe in positive communication and partnership with parents of the children I care for, so I am looking to find family where we as adults have a great relationship as well.
