About Julia

I just moved back to the Seattle area after three and a half years in New York City. In Manhattan, I worked part-time for a family with two boys, who are 11 and 15. The older son is on the Autism Spectrum, and faces additional developmental delays. I worked closely with these boys and their family for a year and a half, and had one of the most enriching experiences of my life doing so. I also babysat regularly for a 1-year-old girl, having started watching her at 3 months old, and her rottweiler buddy. All three of "my kiddos" were an absolute treat, and constantly amazed me with their attitudes and accomplishments. I love watching children learn new things and explore their world. I have worked as a babysitter and nanny on and off since I was 12 years old. I've maintained relationships with a number of families from the time their children were infants to the time they were middle-school aged. I have worked with children who are autistic, children with diabetes, kids with severe allergies, learning disabilities, and have been responsible for groups of up to 45 kids in classroom like settings. I've taken classes in early childhood development and education, and one day would love to work in elementary education full-time.
