About Joy

I have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for over a year and have experience in tutoring and day time child care. I have extensive training in CPR and first aid including basic infant emergency response. I enjoy sharing my love of science and the outdoors with children and am always looking for ways to teach about plants and wildlife in a way that is approachable for any age group. The most rewarding part of working with children is creating a safe space to play and discover. I am most familiar with ages 3-6 and 10-14. I also have experience with overnight care of younger children from 5-18 months old. As a caregiver, I know that some days are harder than others and I strive to approach every day with patience and understanding.
