About Joy

I'd describe my personality as kind, nurturing and creative. I like tutoring because I love teaching. I want to help students succeed academically. My goal is to foster a love of learning and belief in their ability to be successful learners. I'm looking for a job that would allow me to assist families that would like to home school their children, but feel that the task is too big for them. I have been an elementary teacher in the private and public sector. I have also home schooled my own children at different times in their educational journey. I have just retired from teaching and would love to continue working with students on a more individual basis. In my spare time, I like to read and volunteer at my church. One thing you should know about me is I am very kind, and care deeply for my students. My skills include I am a certified elementary teacher. I have taught in both private and public schools. I have home schooled my own children.
