About Josephine

My name is Josephine, and I have my elementary teaching certification along with my reading specialist certification. After receiving my teaching certification, I completed an internship, acting as a reading specialist. I had a full schedule of tier 2 level intervention groups, working with struggling readers in areas of decoding, phonics skills and comprehension. I have had great success with these students and I loved seeing their progress as they reached a reading level that was appropriate for their grade! I believe with care and determination, any child can be set up to succeed in academics and life. I look forward to working with you and your child! I am adaptable, understanding, persistent. I like tutoring because reading is a skill that is not natural. It takes a lot of work to become a fluent reader, but it is a necessity to be successful in this life. I love helping students find that spark! My skills include diagnostic skills, direct instruction, and fidelity.
