Life can change on a dime. In a world that moves so quickly, caregivers can be a lifeline when your heart is full of love, but your tank is empty. In 2020, I was a country recording artist and producer living in Nashville and touring with major artists. Then the pandemic brought the music world to a halt--and unexpectedly led me to one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. I met a single mother raising two severely autistic, non-verbal boys. Despite having therapists and sitters, she was exhausted and barely sleeping. For several years, I became their live-in caregiver, helping with meals, laundry, errands, driving, housekeeping, therapy support and, most importantly, giving Mom time to rest and breathe. More recently, I've worked in Texas in dementia and memory care, including caring for an adult with Huntington's Disease. Caring for others has brought me tremendous purpose and joy. If your tank is running empty, I'd be honored to carry some of the load.
