About John

Hello, My name is John and I'm a recent graduate of the University of Iowa Linguistics program (and also a current attendee of that same program - I finished my Master's and began working on my PhD). I'm currently looking to transfer out of academia, a place I've been for too long, to start finally doing some things in the real world. One passion of mine is actually personal care. Every man in my family for over 4 generations has been a talented chef, and so I group up with a wooden spoon in my hand. Whatever the heart desires, I can make it. And if surprises are your thing, I have some wonderful family recipes besides. I'm great conversation, love playing board and card games if that's of interest, and have also been playing piano for over 20 years, so if there's one in the house I'm a good provider of calming music as well!
