About Joan

I was very blessed to be able to stay at home for 11 years raising my 2 children. When my daughter was 10 months old I opened my home to a one-month-old baby boy. I cared for him for 11 years. When my son was 2 years old I started caring for my 3 nephews. I cared for them for 6 years. One of the most enjoyable rewards was being able to see them grow and learn new things. We always made time for reading, recreation, learning and experiencing new things together. Another rewarding aspect of caring for young children is seeing them respond to nurturing techniques which encourages them to grow their social skills. I 'm passionate about helping children grow because when they are successful in the small things in their lives it will give them confidence when larger stepping stones comes along. I believe my nursing training at Greenville Tech. has surely helped me to be a carefully observant caregiver who has great mother's intuition and can prevent most problems before they happen!
