Joann served as a caregiver to my sister for about 18 months (I'm not sure of the exact dates). My sister suffers from severe Parkinson's and also had suffered a fall that caused a brain injury. As a result, she cannot speak or write at all. I mention all of this to explain the special challenges of working with her. Our family was extremely happy with Joann's performance, and I have no hesitation in recommending her highly for any care-giving position. Joann is an energetic person and always upbeat. I can't tell you how her cheerful and optimistic manner helped my sister and all of us. She is warm, funny, personable, and a pleasure to be around. Joann took excellent care of my sister's needs: personal care, food, comfort, and getting out and about. She's quite strong and was able to handle my sister's transfers and movements safely and securely. Most of all, though, I want to say that Joann is a person of utmost integrity. I can't remember her ever being late, failing to take care of her duties, or making an excuse as to why something didn't get done. If there was ever any issue in a day (things happen), she always let us know right away so that we were never in a bind. She is straightforward and honest, and as a result, we knew we could depend on her completely. The other caregivers thought very highly of her too. Anyone would be lucky to have her on their team.
