About Joan

Greetings, I have experience w/ children since my early youth; I took childhood education during college, then switched majors to what I believed would prep me to serve families at a wider scale. After years in social services, I 'fell back' into education & family care, which I've been doing several years - ranging from newborns to older youth & some w/ special needs. I have a passion for enhancing learning through repetition, fun/ play activities & outings. I enjoy the relationship-building with first-time parents, and that of multiples! My ideal job is to encounter a home where I 'fit in' as family! Part of my childcare philosophy is shadowing a child, monitoring development, allowing exploration & self-expression in a safe & nurturing environment. I'm bilingual, English/ Spanish, a non-smoker & comfortable around pets! I can do light tidying, child's laundry, meal prep & homework help!
