I cannot recommend Jin highly enough. When my husband and I moved to San Francisco a year ago, we were extremely nervous about finding a caretaker for our then-infant son. As attorneys, we work long hours, so we knew that we were not just choosing someone to babysit, but rather something more akin to a third co-parent. We were looking for a nanny who would care for our son as much as we do and proactively take responsibility for his growth and development. Jin was that nanny. Jin is an experienced nanny with endless energy and patience that allow her to effortlessly keep up with our "spirited" toddler. At each stage of his development, she met him where he was and helped him to thrive. For example, as a baby, our son was dramatically underweight. Jin got him to drink milk where we couldn't and, when it was time, to eat a wide variety of healthy solid foods. Where we got frustrated feeding him, Jin never wavered, and she even got our son into the healthy range on the growth chart for the very first time. Jin made all of our son's food herself during naps and feds him three meals a day. She let us know which fruits, vegetables, proteins, and grains would be helpful, and then used whatever we had on hand to make organic, age-appropriate, nutritionally-balanced meals from scratch. Sometimes she even showed up with berries or other fruits in-season from her farmer's market. On Fridays, Jin even made extra food for the weekend, so that we did not have to worry about meal prep. Jin took our son out every single day, rain or shine. They went to parks or to storytime at the library daily. Jin taught our son to stand, walk, run, and climb. She made same-age friends for him at the playground, and when my husband and I took him to the playground on weekends, other parents always raved to us about how engaged, energetic, and loving Jin is. I quite literally never saw Jin on her phone when she was with my son, except to play him songs (no screens) when he requested them. Jin is a consummate professional who is never, ever late and never left our home in less than perfect condition. She went above and beyond the baby laundry and baby dishes we asked for, and instead insisted on also swiffering our floors each day to keep them clean for our son. We even found her doing our adult dishes and emptying our dishwasher without ever being asked. Jin never ran out at the end of the day and she always made sure our son was clean, dry, and freshly diapered before handing him off. Jin never called out sick and was not scared off by toddler colds. One weekend, our son had a fever and we texted Jin to tell her that he was sick. Jin called us immediately to ask how he was doing and eating and to give advice on how to make him comfortable. She insisted on coming to work despite his illness and took amazing care of him. My son absolutely adored Jin and ran to the door each morning when she arrived. It was clear that they loved each other and had a blast together. My husband worked from home and heard them laughing together all day each day. We had complete peace of mind when our son was with Jin and we trusted her, quite literally, with his life. If we could have, we would have kept Jin with us for the rest of our son's childhood. Unfortunately, our careers took us back to Washington, D.C. this August. You will not regret hiring Jin!!
