About Jillian

Hello, and welcome! With a passion for education and experience teaching and subbing in K-6 classes, I am thrilled to introduce myself as your potential tutor. I received my Multiple Subject Elementary credential, Single Subject English credential, and Master of Teaching at UCI. This last summer, I also spent a month in Katsushika, Japan, where I received my Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification. As a dedicated educator, I prioritize creating a safe and nurturing learning environment where every child feels empowered to excel. I look forward to partnering with your family on this exciting educational journey! Our FIRST tutoring session will generally look like: 1. Greeting/Introduction 2. Knowledge Check/Diagnostic: I will administer your student a low-stress reading or math assessment (based on their needs) to determine an appropriate starting point 3. Practice/Extension Activities 4. Review with Parents & Next Steps :)
