About Jessica

I'd describe my personality as caring, effervescent, and patient! I like working with kids because I have a family full of children and I am the oldest, so it is in my nature to be looking after them! The feeling I get after helping a child is rewarding and incomparable to any other! I started working with kids when I was a sophomore in high school! I returned to my childhood gymnastics center and worked as a coach for children ages 3-12, and started babysitting soon after that! In recent years I have been a summer camp counselor for 4-5-year-olds! In my spare time, I like to read, spend time outside and paint! My skills include my imagination- making any activity fun for the child; structure- teaching them the importance of the tasks we complete together; and patience! I'm now a junior at JMU, majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders hoping to be a NICU SLP! I'm also minoring in Exceptional Education and have experience with special needs children!
