About Jessica

Currently working as a COTA/L (Certified and Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant). I have 5 years experience in a LTAC setting, 13 years in a TCR/SNF. I love my patients, residents, customers and their families. I have provided care to the elderly for over 20 years. I have provided personal care to clients who have been unable to eat, feed themselves, speak or communicate effectively and who have not been able get out of bed, stand, walk, go to the bathroom or get themselves dressed; and have been able to get them back to their prior functional status. I'm most cases working with the elderly has not been like this in the current nursing home environment. Being a therapist in a nursing home is completely exhausting and frustrating on many different levels; just wanting to be a caregiver without having to justify to insurance "why" sounds refreshing, rewarding and so much less stressful for me and beneficial to an individual who needs and wants my services and experience.

Jessica is the first to arrive at work in the morning to make sure her patients are cared for without being rushed. She's helpful and encouraging. She provides practical education to patients for ways they may be able to do more for themselves or to show them an easier or safer way to complete a task. She follows a plan of care independently addressing all goals. Patients love her. I'm a speech pathologist who has worked with Jess for more than 4 years and it had been a privilege to work with her, learn from her, laugh with her and see her make those in her care smile. I would highly recommend for any geriatric care position to which she applies.
