Eldest of a homeschool family with 10 years of experience, growing from babysitting to full-time nanny. I've cared for all ages, from newborn through middle school. I love learning how infants communicate before they speak. My priority is staying calm. Whether it's a fussy baby or an overstimulated toddler, I can't help them if I'm freakin' out! If a baby with needs met is still upset, I walk in the carrier or do a gentle "dance party." Babies read the energy, so I keep mine calm first. For older kids, I teach "blow me over" for deep breaths. The best way to keep kids engaged is to include them. A curious baby becomes a helpful toddler if you play your cards right. I lean toward a Montessori approach. I love cooking; baby nutrition is a special interest, and I follow family menus and allergies exactly.
