About Jenny

My name is Jenny and working with children has been my passion for two decades! I started as a camp counselor and preschool aid as a teenager; soon I was the go-to babysitter and nanny for several families. In 2013, I earned a dual Masters degree in Museum Education and General Education from Bank Street College in NYC. For seven years, I taught 3rd grade at a private school in the city, and spent the summers teaching at museums and/or pursuing professional development studies. I moved to Portland a few years ago and started Wondering Minds, dedicated to educating children about SEL and mindfulness practices. I worked in schools, wellness studios, private homes, etc. After the pandemic, my work shifted, and I've spent the last year leading a Homeschooling Pod for six children, ages 5-10. We pursued engaging curricula in all academic subjects, meeting the grade level standards and personal needs of each child. It has been a year full of excitement and growth for us all!
