About Jennifer

I have worked with children in many different settings for over 25 years. My earliest experiences were in college, volunteering at a Deaf Pre-school and working as a GED tutor. When it came to using the skills I learned, I was in the classroom as a para-professional. Then I moved into a teaching role for Deaf students. While raising my young children, I worked part-time with individuals families of Deaf children. Once my kids were in school, we finally made the decision to homeschool. Once they graduated, I have been substitute teaching in a small local school in all grades, PK-8th grade. I feel these varied settings have really prepared me for possibly tutoring YOUR child! I have a Masters in Special Education - Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Although not overly fluent in American Sign Language, I have decent skill and currently interpret on a regular basis in a volunteer role. I work best with grades K-6 and children with disabilities.
