About Jennifer

I'm the mother of 3 grown children, with 30+ years of experience in early childhood education and creative arts. I am EEC certified, and am currently pursuing a degree in creative writing. I most enjoy working with infants and toddlers. References upon request. I believe that kids who have positive support and nurturing care as children grow into happy, well adjusted adults. I love being able to support families in ways that help kids get a great start in life. I believe in a gentle approach to caregiving, one of kindness and respect. I don't believe in letting babies "cry it out" and I don't believe that you can spoil a baby by holding them. My approach to encouraging appropriate behavior is redirection and communication rather than punishment. I love planning and facilitating "low tech" activities for children... outdoor play, crafts, reading stories, and creative play. I enjoy sharing my passion for nature and children's literature.
