About Jennifer

My name is Jennifer, a 20-year-old newlywed living in Waukesha. I recently attended Carroll University in Waukesha, studying music education and math education. I have previous child care experience through baby-sitting. I have baby-sat for multiple families, and my most common opportunity was with a family of four children all under the age of six. I also have volunteered in numerous children's programs through my church. I taught vacation bible school for preschoolers and middle schoolers, and was a teacher's aide for an Awana Cubbies group for children ages 3 to 4 years. I am certified in adult, child, and infant CPR. During my time at Carroll University I also took a class focusing on children with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder. I know basic ASL, and believe in teaching children sign language when they are young and so open to learning new things. I feel that a healthy diet, including many vegetables, is very important. As for discipline, I believe in telling children why they are being punished and following through with an age-appropriate time-out. I also believe in bestowing values, respect, and manners at a young age. I would love to plan activities for the children to entertain and educate them throughout the day. Some ideas include the following: art, play time, story time, music, educational time, outdoor activities, working on language skills, games, and puzzles.
