Hello, my name is Jenna, I am excited to be getting back into childcare full or part-time. I just moved to Ventura, CA and am looking for a new job in the area. I am originally from the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, where I grew up with a single mother who works as a nanny and daycare provider. As the oldest of three children I have grown up surrounded by kids and have helped care for them my entire life, so taking care of them comes naturally for me. I have been babysitting for other families ever since I was 15, giving me over 12 years experience at the age of 28. I moved out to Santa Barbara in July 2005 to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a marine biologist, but soon became more interested in developmental psychology. I ended up getting my Bachelors degree in psychology, with an emphasis in early childhood development from the University of California in Santa Barbara. I did my honors thesis on pregnancy and childbirth; therefore I am very interested and knowledgeable in this area, and would one day. I am also very interested in the arts such as music, painting, drawing, sculpting, dancing, cooking, writing, French and philosophy. I love to travel, read, and go to the beach as often as I can. Most of all I love spending time with children; in fact my life doesn't feel complete without them in it. I have been working with the same family for nearly three years, but now that they only need me once a week, I am ready give my love and care to a new family, while I begin working on my teaching credentials. I hope to find a family that needs me as much as I need them over the next year or two, or until I begin my career as a science or elementary school teacher. I specialize in newborns and infants; but I have experience with children of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and learning abilities. With my years of experience and educational training, I am perfectly capable general infant and childcare including: bottle or meal preparation, feeding, changing clothes and diapers, bathing, massaging, engaging in safe educational play, leading artistic projects, and stimulating cognitive and motor development. I am very responsible, reliable, safe and great in emergency situations. Yet I am a very calm, patient, comforting, and fun person. Most importantly, it is the peace of mind that I offer parents, in knowing that their children will be safe and happy while in my care, that makes me an ideal candidate for any childcare position. Please feel free to contact me about my resume, as I don't have much of it here. Thank you for your interest in me and I wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect person for your family.
