About Jeannette

I am interested in working as a nanny because I have enjoyed my past experiences working with young children. I have five years of professional experience both in a traditional center and a second nature based child care program. In my second role, our team focused on respecting the autonomy of a child by respecting them as you would an adult. For example, we focused on positive guidance and we constantly encouraged narrating to the littles regarding everyday activities and routines. I believe in positive guidance. I have done professional development on the honey comb theory. I believe that children should have free will. I do not believe in punishment. I have always learned that an angry child just needs help calming down. By self-regulating yourself, you can help the child co-regulate.
