Jean worked for us for 8 months taking care of my 91 year old grandmother. In the beginning, Jean did very well and we were very happy with her. After a few months, things began to "slack off" and duties slowly slid to the wayside. When we casually tried to talk with Jean about issues, tasks and job duties, she was argumentative, talked right over the top of us, and was very defensive. Jean and I spoke on the phone about some slight changes we wanted, all of which, Jean was receptive to. The next day in person, however, Jean was not receptive as all. She got angry, combative, argumentative and said that I was being too nit-picky and that maybe we needed to find someone else. I told her I understood how she felt and could have her check ready at the end of the day. She then went to my grandmother and told her I fired her... upsetting my gran needlessly especially since I Did Not fire Jean. I think Jean could and would be a great caregiver, but her temper maybe gets in her way?
