About Jay

I'd describe my personality as patient, compassionate, and understanding. I like working with kids because they see parts of life that we tend to forget. Everything is so new to them; they bring you into their own universe and it's wonderful. I started working with kids when I was a young, then I worked at a school for a few months. In my spare time, I like to read, be creative, and consume media (movies, music, games). I'm a big hobby hopper!! One thing you should know about me is I have chronic pain, so there are somedays my body just doesn't want me to function. However, with the right accommodations, I still get through those days :) My skills include communication--I try to talk your youngin' with the intent of helping them express themselves authentically; decision making skills; and compassion/empathy--all the kiddos want is to be understood, even the littlest of them, and that is something I not only agree with but can relate to.
